The BPS EdTech Team is excited to announce our November Tech Savvy Parenting Night which we be held on Wednesday, November 18th at 6:00PM in the Marshall Simonds Middle School Library Commons. The focus of our November event will once again be cyber security. You can also view our October session which features a discussion about cyber security here. This event is part of our ongoing Digital Bootcamp Series. We are fortunate to have Burlington resident and cyber security expert Gerald Beuchelt leading our November session.
Gerald Beuchelt is currently the Chief Security Officer for Demandware and is responsible for leading the development, implementation, and management of the corporate information security governance and management framework. Prior to this position Gerald was a Principal Software Systems Engineer at MITRE where he focused on cyber security, advanced web services, and identity management technology. He was the chief information security architect for the US Air Force Air Operation Center (AOC) Modernization program, focusing on the development and implementation of the overall information assurance, including security engineering, configuration management, and certification and accreditation.
Gerald will be joining us on November 18 to share his experience and expertise on device management and the iPad in particular. He will help parents gain a clear understanding of iPad settings, parental controls, and strategies for keeping their children safe whenever they are online or using iOS applications. Parents attending the event are encouraged to bring their iPads to this hands-on, interactive session. There will also be a Q & A session that will allow parents to ask any and all of their cyber security questions. On behalf of the BPS EdTech Team, we look forward to seeing you on November 18th.
