The BPS EdTech Team hosted the first Parent Tech Night of the year on Tuesday, October 1 at Marshall Simonds Middle School. The session featured a presentation about our elementary school 1:1 program. This year BPS students in grades 1, 4, and 5 will be 1:1 with iPads. The Parent Tech Night presentation highlighted the journey to 1:1, the key points about the program, and the apps installed on all elementary iPads.
Here are some important points from the presentation:
Elementary iPads stay at schools
BPS provides cases for all elementary iPads
No family insurance
Teachers set classroom expectations for use of the iPads and balance time on devices with other curriculum materials.
Elementary iPads have Foundational and Essential Apps installed. These apps are for content creation and content delivery. They can be used across curriculum content areas and grades. Teachers can add apps as needed throughout the school year.
