The BPS EdTech Team would like to invite all staff to the February sessions of our technology series. The How Do I Do That program provides opportunities for staff to learn about technology topics and devices. Staff members are encouraged to attend any sessions that interest them. All sessions run from 3 to 5:30pm – however – participants do not have to stay for the entire session. Please arrive and attend for as long as you are able to. Please remember that this year participants can bundle hours to earn Burlington Public Schools inservice credits. You must complete twenty total contact hours at sessions this year to earn two inservice credits.
February sessions feature iPads for the Classroom and Digital Storytelling with members of the Pine Glen Library and Technology Center team.
Pine Glen Instructional Technology Specialist Dan Callahan will lead a session discussing ways to integrate iPads into the classroom. This session will move beyond the basics of the iPad and explore ways to use apps and web based resources with the device. Dan will help teachers prepare lessons and projects using iPads and some of the great apps available today.
Pine Glen Library Media Specialist Laura D’Elia will lead a session exploring Digital Storytelling. This is a great opportunity to learn about how to develop lessons and projects featuring digital stories. Students can use digital stories to bring curriculum content and literature to life with video, audio, and images. Digital Storytelling can be a powerful component of project based learning and ultimately part of a student’s digital portfolio.
